USGA Handicapping begins in March. Season pass holders will get one USGA Handicap at no charge. An additional USGA Handicap may be purchased for $25 for the 2007 season. Anyone playing in any of the golf events is highly encouraged to get a USGA Handicap.
Christmas Lake Golf Pro Tom Nelson encourages junior golfers in the 6th through 8th grade who are interested in participating on a Junior Golf Team and playing a few matches at local courses in April and May to contact him at the golf shop. Any junior golfers interested in participating in a summer junior golf program to begin in mid-May should also contact the golf shop and leave email information.
The Christmas Lake Two Man Spring Scramble/Alternate Shot will be played on April 14 & 15. The entry fee is $200 per team and includes all golf fees for both tournament rounds, a practice round (cart fee only), a tournament gift, Saturday lunch, all prizes, unlimited range balls, and a coupon for a return trip to Christmas Lake (cart fee only) in 2007.
During the month of April pro Tom Nelson reminds you that it is FREE FITTING & TRADE UP MONTH. Schedule an appointment and you can get a free 20 minute fitting session for golf clubs. Tom will also give you a fitting recommendation and work with you in trading your current clubs in through the PGA Trade in Network.
During March the off season rates remain in effect. 18 holes with cart will be $20 on weekdays and $25 on weekends. In April golf will have special pre-season rates of 18 holes with cart for $30 on weekdays and $35 on weekends and holidays (Good Friday is considered a holiday).
May is PGA Free Lesson month. Call the golf shop to schedule a 10 minute free lesson with Tom at a pre-arranged time.
Various leagues will also start play in May. The 18-Hole Ladies League for experienced players will kick off the first Tuesday in May. The EP (Senior League) will play Thursday mornings.
