Thoughts and observations from some things I have seen or heard…
I keep hearing about a 10 year old who is joyriding around the Village in a golf cart with his little sister. Off road vehicles are not to be used on Village roads or common areas. This includes off-road motorcycles, 3 wheelers, 4 wheelers, and golf carts in most circumstances. Golf carts to and from the golf course, operated by a licensed driver, with a “slow moving vehicle” triangle on the back are OK. A concise statement regarding off road vehicles will be placed on the website soon.
The rules and planned uses for the CLV chipper are located on the website (www.clvillage.com) under the “rules” link. Limbs for trimming need to come to the road. The chipper is large and difficult to maneuver.
Please be considerate of the gate officers at the front entry. Numerous cars come through the gate daily and it is not possible for the guards to know everyone and their guests by sight. If you do not have a current sticker, the guard may ask who you are. Tinted windows can also be a sight hindrance. In these circumstances there may be a short delay. It also helps if you call the guard before your guests arrive.
Fishing rules are posted on the website. To access those, go to the rules link.
The Covenants & Restrictions state that an owner shall provide adequate off street parking facilities for the vehicles of all occupants of each residence. If you are parking cars on your lawn, you will probably be hearing from us. Large vehicles, like semi tractors, are likewise restricted. Oversize vehicles are to be shielded from street view or stored in the storage facility. Contact the office for space availability.
I wonder how many of the large satellite dishes that are out there are still in use.
The speed limit remains 25 MPH.
Why is there so much trash on Village roads?
Why are the roadside drainage ditches clogged with mowed grass?
Do not hesitate when the back gate opens to let you into the Village. It is on a timer and will hit your car if it is in the way.
The Village is a beautiful and unique place to live. We can all help keep it that way.
